I let the SD Quattro go!
1

Hello everyone,

Hope you are well.

Finally I decided and I let go of my Sigma SD Quattro. I haven't been using it at all to be honest, and it was just sitting in the dry cabinet. I shoot portrait more, and a 45mm equivalent lens is not to my liking. SA mount lenses are not available where I am, and I doubt I'd ever buy one to just use it once in a while.

I am thinking of getting the dp3 Quattro maybe, a 75mm lens is more to my liking, and I do like the body design. I have tried the dp1 and dp2 Quattro and they were great. Never tried the dp3 though.

What do you guys think? Was it a good decision to let go of the SD Quattro and get a dp3 Quattro? How good is the dp3 quattro?

Manzur,

I would have kept the sd Q and got a lens suitable for portraits for it.

The dp3 Q would be an excellent alternative  if you can find one.

Yes. I think it definitely was Manzur.

Good luck with your hunt for a dp3 Quattro. Hopefully you'll find one soon.

Knowing the pics you shoot, I would say it is your decision.

I could give you a Nokia N95 with a flattened glass marble as lens and you would still be able to produce stunning pictures.

Dunno about the DP3Q, but the DP3M is always with me in the studio. I usually start with it: it is less frightening for models than the Hasselblad Juggernaut. And till A3+ the pics it produces are beautiful

I have the Dp0q - Dp2q and Dp3q. I find that the Dp3q is the most efficient.

Better sharpness, the difference is minimal with the other two. But the increased iso is much better with the Dp3q.

And it offers good recovery capabilities from overexposed areas.

I don't get to use it much so I thought buying a lens would be pointless. I can get the same or better from dp3 quattro I thought. Hopefully I can fine one.

Thank you and have a great day!

Wow, my friend. That made my day. Thank you so much for the kind comment. I am nothing like that, not even close. But I really appreciate it.

DP3M is also very good I heard. If I can't get the quattro, maybe DP3M? I already have the 1 and 2, so that would complete the trinity.
