R6MKII owners: Are you good with C1-C3 settings?

So far this is the only drawback I can see with my otherwise stellar camera. I have various settings for C1, C2 and C3. C1 and C2: got it to record separately slot 1 RAW, slot 2 jpeg. C3: I got Auto Switch all in jpeg. The problem is when I go to let's say in C3 then switch to C1---the C1 settings would flip to Auto Switch RAW 1 and RAW 2. Ditto if I was on C1 then go to C3, the latter will flip to a different recording setting. All other settings remain the same.

BTW, I have the Auto Update set. to Enable. At first I had it disabled and now to Enable but still the problem remains.

Are you encountering the same problem?

José

I called Canon Canada and told them about my problem. Rep told me to reset my camera so I did. Unfortunately, the problem remains. I hate to take this camera to the service centre for this minor issue. Besides they told me that they are no longer accepting walk-ins thus I have to mail my camera in. I won't bother. Hopefully there will be a firmware update to address this issue in the future.

You tried unable again? Because in your case you want the custom settings to stay the same and not update.

my R3 works fine and I haven’t  read of any 6ii issues with custom mode, so is it really a firmware issue?

Thanks. Yeah I reset my camera settings and tried again. The issue still remains. BTW, I'm on the latest firmware.

Another user in a different thread reported a similar problem. So I don't think it's just me. Like I mentioned hope they address this in firmware but I can live with it. Next time I'm on the field I just have to be aware and make the changes as warranted.

Re: R6MKII owners: Are you good with C1-C3 settings?

As it was pointed out on the other forum it may well be that the 6ii does not customise cards?

if this is the case then I would suggest you add Ty e xrd selection to your quick menu so you can change quickly, not as quickly, but with practice pretty quick!

To illustrate issue (pics)

I might not be articulating myself well so here are some pics

C1 Setting

C2

C3

Let's say I move from C3 to C1, check out what happens to my C1 setting and compare it with the first pic---the card recording setting changed to RAW + jpeg Auto Switch but it should be Record Separately (RAW on Card 1 and Jpeg on Card 2).

Much appreciated expro, I just did that. That workaround will do for now until there is a firmware update.

Cheers,

José

Right so I’ve rechecked my R3 because believe custom modes are same across recent models.

and yes you’re right. The custom modes do NOT include the card settings at all. None of them. Once changed they change across all modes.
