What to do with a (nearly) dead X-T1 with an SD card issue

The camera is no longer under warranty, so you can take it anywhere.  But, I think you should just find a used X-T2.

I'm sure I can find someone here who says they'll be able to fix it, and maybe they can, but I don't know when it comes to camera repairs if being a Fuji makes a difference or if all electronics in cameras are essentially the same. Wondering if parts may be an issue. Repair prices will be lower than in the US. I can live with the cosmetic issues.

I might be traveling back to the US in the next 6-12 months. I could get it fixed there. But I'm guessing it would cost more to fix everything than it would to buy a used X-T2 (or something more recent) in decent condition. Without the SD card and control dial problems MPB would probably call it "Heavily Used" and if they were interested purchase it for $130.

Should I try to sell it on ebay, here at DPR, Fred Miranda, etc. "as is" or 'for parts only?' Take a shot at getting it repaired at a generic camera repair place? Repurpose it as a flowerpot? Is it possible something's wrong with my computer and some malware or something is corrupting the cards?

As an aside, even if I ditch this body and switch systems to something more common here, I still have my old X-E1, so even if I sell off most of my excellent condition lenses I'll probably keep the 27 pancake and have a nice little street camera

Get some contact cleaner and see if you can use it with a Q tip to clean the SD card contacts, corrupt data is usually a break in the data path somewhere. You could also put some on the SD card contacts and see if that works, then do a hard reset and check it again. Small fixes can often resurrect a seemingly junked camera.
