Lesser Scaup, Wood Ducks and Hooded Merganser - Thanks

Thanks.  I knew I had to look for the ducks when we had sunny weather.  The 10 day forecast now where I live is rain every day.  But we may get a few sun breaks.

Re: Local Pond at sunset

What most caught my eye when I saw the photo, was the castle.  We just don't have many structures more than 200 years old especially on the West Coast...a few...but not many.

Re: Local Pond at sunset

It's actually a church. It was built in 1817.

That church looks cool.   It has a tower with battlements.  Maybe that tower was constructed to give the people some safety.

A few birds

The weather has progressively warmed up in the southern plains recently and the bird activity has picked up too.

Re: A few birds

Neat...I like your birds.  I recognize all of them, but I can't remember their names.  That's why I keep my bird book close to me.

Re: Lesser Scaup, Wood Ducks and Hooded Merganser

Hi Digirame,

Your Lesser Scaup reminds me of our Tufted Ducks, you've got to be quick as they're constantly diving for fish in my parts. Love the Wood ducks such beautiful birds.

I've never seen a Hooded Merganser they're rare visitors to our shores.

Super shots as always.

Re: A Walk in the Park.

Superb shots as always.

The temperatures dropped here too... not that cold though. There's a little snow, but it's more rainy than snowy.

Lesser Scaup, Wood Ducks and Hooded Merganser - Thanks

Thanks.  I rarely see Hooded Merganser.  I was lucky that day.  They stayed near the Wood Ducks.
