Walking weekend, mid-Wales, UK
23

Hello, bit of a broad range of subjects here, having been on x3 outings this past few days. Mostly shot on Fujifilm X-H1 and XF 35mm f1.4, though also a bit of birding with the X-T3 and XF 100-400mm. All jpegs from the camera, some on Astia, some Provia, some Pro-Neg, further tweaked in Snapseed on my phone. Record shots, nothing fancy, but a great time was had. Thanks.

First day

Dropping down through forestry, heading into Cwm Rheidol.

Crossing the narrow gauge railway that runs to Devil's Bridge

Climbing up out of the valley floor, through ancient woodland

Whistle! Signage alongside the railway

Coming out of the valley - gibbous moon

Mining scars

Next day, RSPB reserve - birds were mostly waders and far away, so did some bird on stuck stuff as is my usual thing.

Chaffinch, none of my usual editing work flow with rafs. Not used to seeing so much noise 😅

Blue Tit, as above

Final day - in the hills

Taking in the views above Llyn Llygad Rheidol

Yomping up to the ridge

Brewing up behind a cairn

Sheltering for lunch on Pumlumon Fawr

Fujifilm X-H1 Fujifilm X-T3

Great set, love Wales and all around Snowdonia. I too am slowly moving to jpeg only, mostly due to wanting to get out more and edit less.

Thanks you, all three of you.

Chris Gibbons - this area around Pumlumon is in mid-Wales, an area I'm really beginning to appreciate. I love Eryri/Snowdonia, but would also push the Cambrians for walking as its so remote in comparison to other parts of Wales. Perhaps the Rhinogs in the north west are as remote from what I've read, but I've not had the pleasure of walking that cluster of mountains yet. EDIT - just gave your wildlife account on Insta a follow. Good stuff!
