R6 Focuses Better in Lowlight than the R6Mii

Yep, that's my feedback. I don't know if the R6Mii will have a more optimal firmware update to change this.

My observation is from roughly the same lenses: RF15-30mm, RF16mm, RF24mm, EF50mm 1.2 and Sigma 135mm 1.8. This is more pronounced when it comes to focusing on rough surfaces that are predominantly red and orange, which is weird. I am talking a red statue at night, with a bit of beam from a nearby street lamp. The R6 grabs this eventually, within 2-3 seconds, while the R6Mii hunts, hunts, hunts then focuses. Same with an orange gas lamp being used by fishermen from a distance of around 2-2.5 kilometers. The R6 nails it almost instantly. The R6Mii nails it too, but a bit slower, by about 0.5 to 1 second.

The R6Mii is of course more sticky than the R6 under general / well-lighted conditions.

Re: R6 Focuses Better in Lowlight than the R6Mii

I was working in low light recently doing a shoot with speeedlites, using the RF 24-105 f4 and it hovered around te face but couldn't nail focus on the eye. And yet my 5Diii has no problem. Worrying.
