A couple of spiders from SE QLD Australia
13

Here are two spiders I found recently. Both these critters were found on the Sunshine Coast in SE QLD Australia. Does anyone have any ideas of the ID of number 2?

No 1: Male Mopsus mormon, Green jumping spider 10mm

No 2: Unknown, 15mm triangular abdomen. Found at night in sub tropical rainforest

I used a Cygnus tech diffuser and a Raynox diopter. Processed in Lightroom & Sharpen AI

Very nice captures, thanks for sharing! But as Jim I unfortunately can't help with the ID ...

A gentleman on Reddit has come up with, a square ended crab spider. Judging by the sample images I’d say he’s correct.

Nice, but do Australian spiders qualify as macrophotography? I mean, aren't they as large as cars?

The term "mirrorless" is totally obsolete. It's time we call out EVIL for what it is. (Or, if you can't handle "Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens" then Frenchify it and call it "LIVE" for "Lens Interchangeable, Viewfinder Electronic" or "Viseur électronique").

Some are, but most are no bigger than dogs. You have a point, one would probably need a portrait lens in stead of macro and  DPReview should create a new forum "animal portraits".

Australian Spider dogs are not considered dangerous, eg, whereas other nations actually eat their dogs hot

Wow! I live in the heart of the Mid-west where creatures like these die off due to winter temps.

This is the largest spider I have seen, if you walked into its web it’s leg span would cover your whole face

The first one is stunning!  It doesn't hurt that it is rocking a mohawk.

Re: Nice, but...

Thanks to jumping spiders I’m now used to ‘small’ critters, but I hope you used a 600 lens and stood well back from that monster
