My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

Hi!

So, when on, this adapter (Pro Series) wobbles right/left about 1mm...

Is yours behaving the same?

Just trying to figure out if I should contact them for a replacement.

I have the Pro II (recently purchased). Using it with my X-S10 and my handful of vintage K-mount glass I've had no wobbles.

Re: My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

I fixed once a adapter from a different brand by tightening the screws.

If you have a small screwdriver, that fits, try to tighten the screws on the mount.

Maybe it improves.

KF now seem to offer three different PK-FX adapters. Anyone know what the differences are? I have this type and it fits fine.

Got a cheap adapter I got for about 10 bucks. Rock solid on the PK mount, but a bit loose on the X-mount. Pretty much in line with the behavior exhibited in the video.

If you want something really solid, consider getting one from Novoflex: https://www.novoflex.de/en/products-637/lens-adapters//adapterfinder-products/camera/fuji-x-mount-mirrorless/objectiv/43.html

Which mount, the adapter?

The camera is very tight, evidently with Fuji lenses there is zero play no matter how much you try to wobble it...

Something is off with the KF - they are made by 5 year olds  or something

Also, are those 10$ adapters from ali express? Just so I know to avoid these as well :))

No idea, got it from a local shop when I first entered the system to play around with some Pentax lenses I had lying around. The adapter did its job well and the play wasn't really noticeable most of the time. If you want something top notch, there are options on the market, but be ready to pay a hefty amount.

Re: My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

If anybody bought a cheap adapter that has zero play on the camera side I'd love a link!

The smoothest, most precision adapter I own is K&F PK/DA-FX - the more expensive one that allows you to do a mechanical stop down of the newer PK lenses (that don't have an aperture ring). The adapter is definitely more precise than the fitting on my Fringer (EF-FX) - admittedly the non-Pro version; it doesn't wobble, but there is very little friction.

I'm pretty sure that K&F put a little more precision into the design with the thought that the ones without the proper mechanism for all PK lenses were those planning one-off or casual-occasional use.

As I said, I’ve got this one and it’s fine.

Re: My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

I meant the adapter on the side that connects with the camera. There should be some screws. I would just try it. Of course the camera mount is fine.

I don't have your adapter, but just try to tighten every visible outside screw on the adapter.

This issue is often just some loose screws on the adapter. I wouldn't lose any time with refunds or returns. Just try to fix it yourself.

As I have seen your video, that wobble was similar to my adapter (Canon FD-FX). And my adapter was apparently  also from KF but named different. There are even some cheaper options as KF, with sub brands.

I use or had almost 4-6 adapters made from a KF sub brand and the quality is decent for the price. I can't complain at all.

Re: My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

Maybe I’ve been lucky but my K&F FD/FX adapter is also fine.

Re: My KF Concept PK-FX adapter wobbles

Adapter replaced by amazon, new one is the same ol' story

What I take from this thread is that the Pro series adapters are inferior in stability to the older ones.

I would just buy the older one, and stay away from the loose Pro series. I think they tried to make it looser to satisfy customers who see tightness an issue - but went too far in tolerances.
