EOS Utility 2.14.20a-Updater and Windows 11

The Canon USA website tells me EOS Utility 2.14.20a-Updater functions on Windows versions up to 8.1. Does EOS Utility 2.14.20a-Updater function on Windows 11 that is installed on desktops and laptops? I know it functions on my Windows 10 desktop. I recently purchased a Windows 11 laptop and am considering getting a Windows 11 desktop.

I have a Rebel T5 I use for family and friend gatherings. I also have a 5D 2 that was replaced by a 5DS.

Thank you.

zeroed,

Theoretically, it should be backwards compatible, but I must admit, I don't know anything about Windows 11.

Do you like 11?

I think it is a bigger step from 8.1 to 10, than 10 to 11. My guess is it will work.

As an IT support, I didn’t met any compatibility issues with upgrade to 11.

To be on the safe side, just update cameras before desktop.:-)

Seems to run fine on my Win 11 system. (The installer, that is. Didn't actually test the software with a camera.)

Windows 11

Have "played" with Windows 11 on the refurbished laptop I recently purchased only a few days.  Windows 11 seems to add unnecessary steps.  Example:  when I right click to delete a file or folder I have to take a second step by clicking on "Show More Options."  This gets a tad irritating.  I like a My Computer or This PC icon on the upper left of my computer's desktop.  Had to do brief internet search to learn how to put one there because Windows 11 did not.  Still need more experience with Windows 11.
