RF 28-70 F2 stock uk

Hi folks.

After discussion with some of my fellow DPReview members the decision to go for the F2 lens and accept the lack of IS we've decided to go for this as a new purchase.

Panamoz I looked to for a good deal but they haven't had stock for a little while.

I was emailed today saying stock is now available.

A very good price indeed.

Any tips or help for the use of this lens appreciated. It will replace an older EF 100 F2.8 lens and also an RF 28-105 F4 lens (I don't really like this lens - the EF was doing as much work for us).

Do any of you use this lens with extension tubes/rings? Is the AF still usable?

Thanks and hope the availability helps others get this lens at such a good price.

We managed a further discount from Panamoz making this less expensive than some used lenses and with a 3 year warranty.

R2d2 I think you were one that convinced us this was the route to go. Hope I don't miss the IS and it's the correct choice.

Light transmission is a particularly important aspect of the optical performance of a lens that’s also touted for video

What is the specific reason we would be concerned over the Tx during video applications rather than stills? Is this becuase of changing focal length and the brightness is required to stay constant?
