It looks perfectly focused on the fine hairs & wing veins in the middle of the frame. What did you tell the camera to focus on? Or was this manual?

I don't remember, probably the eyes. I think it was shot in A mode with a Panna TZ10.

Re: Missed focus.

I am trying to get some march chops.  Question,  When shooting macro, do you typically use the view finder, or the screen on the camera??  My camera D700, D3 does not have live view.  Which means I have trouble shooting things that are low, close to the ground.

Re: Missed focus.

What are march chops? I use both the LCD and the EVF, but I try to get my subject on a table or at least high enough to be comfortable.

Re: Missed focus.

I wanted to edit the listing but did not see where I could do that.  Sorry!  I intended to say macro chops (AKA, macro skills)

It depends - still subjects the live view screen, moving subject viewfinder.

You could consider the DR-5 or similar.
