Assuming its RF 100-400? How is 400 DO lens optically? I think the big advantage is that it's small and lightweight?Just googled about it and I take my words back

The R62 crops better than I expected. Not a native bird but are wild. Released pets that are overtaking native species in both Portugal and Spain. This was taken in Sitges, just outside of Barcelona. I didn't have my telephoto lens with me.

Re: Bird photos

Thank you. The basic for this is light/ time of the day, of course camera (R5) but the most important lens . I usually shoot up to f5.6 and lower. I am happy that you like them.

Wow, really nice results for such high ISO! I'm curious, did you run that through any de-noise software, like Topaz?

Coffee & Cars car show
3

Went to a car show near my home on Sunday. Everything from old classics to newer cars with an emphasis on high dollar sports cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Corvettes.  I tend to shoot detail shots and closeups, trying to shoot the entire vehicle often includes unwanted stuff in the background.

Shot mostly with my Canon R and RF 24-105, a few with a Tokina 100mm macro.

I happened to stop to check out the local Bald Eagles' nest this afternoon just as they were changing shifts and had the the Eagle that was leaving the nest fly right at and over me. Since I was shooting from the car window, I couldn't follow him as he went overhead, but still got about sixty sharp images. These were my favorites.

Hi danferrin,

A wonderful creature and what must have been an exhilarating fly-by - thanks for sharing.

Re: Great Gray Owl at Twilight

Rudy Pohl wrote:

Great Gray Owl at Twilight about to take flight - Ottawa, Ontario

It was a magical, first-time experience for me to be able to observe a Great Gray Owl in its forest-home setting for a few brief moments during twilight. The scene was a light-blue, dream-like landscape of trees and tangled branches with the Owl's silhouette faintly visible.

I was actually much farther away than it appears in this image, but my RF100-500 L USM plus an in-post crop on these R5 images makes it seem like I'm much closer. Thanks to RAW files and advanced photo-editing technology I was able to tease out the details and even some colours from an originally very dark image.

Rudy

Hi Rudy,

What a magnificent creature and a great capture - what an experience you must have had!
