Amusing anecdote

A few days ago I went to collect an EF 100-400 Mk 1 zoom that I bought to sell on as it was collect-only, in very good condition and at a very good price. I had my R5 and an adaptor with me so that I could check the lens worked ok. I got chatting to the elderly couple selling it, she was the photographer.

She told me the lens had been well looked after and had only ever had light use, which I don’t doubt. Now she concentrates more on macro. What lens did she use I asked, perhaps a 180mm? She wasn’t sure which lens or which camera, but definitely Canon. She had ‘the one up from mine’. This I had to see.

So she disappeared for a minute and then reappeared to proudly show me her Canon 5D Mk 1 with 24-70mm zoom. Clearly one up from my R5. I just smiled.

Canon EOS R5

It's nice that you didn't say anything. And that's great that she is happy with her camera.
