Meike MK320

I own a Meike MK320 with a Nikon DSLR D7500 body. I bought the Meike MK320 second hand and it says 'for lumix', can the TTL work with the Nikon? I tried the TTL but sadly didn't flash, although manual works.

Unfortunately, nothing about the two flash systems is compatible except (as you've already seen) the large trigger contact.

The data contact arrangements are different: Lumix has four data contacts below the main trigger, Nikon has a more robust system with two contacts above the main trigger and two below. The way the flashes signal "hey! I'm connected!" differs between the two systems, and the messages they send and the way they send them differs.

The term "mirrorless" is totally obsolete. It's time we call out EVIL for what it is. (Or, if you can't handle "Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens" then Frenchify it and call it "LIVE" for "Lens Interchangeable, Viewfinder Electronic" or "Viseur électronique").

Re: Meike MK320

I have a Meike Olympus TTL and as the previous poster  points out - the varoius TTL systems are not compatible,

Don't despair - I use mine in slave mode with Nikon TTL flashes sometimes and it is easy to set up and adjust.  Its very useful.

BUT - if you need a TTL main flash then it has to be Nikon compatible - either GODOX if you need multiple flashes or just something like a SB910 - very cheap now used - but very capable.

I noticed per accident that my wireless trigger works with Canon as well as Olympus. It only has ONE contact somehow, the rest is plastic. You would think that if a wireless trigger can fire on both systems, why couldn't the MK320, beit in manual mode? Not that I have dared to try (I also have the MK320).
