How to lock exposure in Live View Pentax K-1 manual mode
1

Well, the question is already in the title. Many times I shoot in LV because I am manually focusing aided by focus peaking. But as soon as I redirect the camera the LV screen will change the exposure so that many times I can't see what I am doing and I can't see focus peaking lines. I shoot exclusively in manual mode and I know that this constant fluctuation of exposure in LV will not affect photo but affects my vision and ability to focus. I would like to lock exposure of the screen once I can see everything clearly and continue focusing without brightness of the LV fluctuating with every move of the camera. I tried switching between all available metering modes but that didn't help. How can I solve this? Thank you.

Personally, I use the Focus Confirmation Indicator (green hexagon) in the optical viewfinder when I'm working with manual lenses, simply to avoid scenarios like this.

It is a characteristic of the LiveView feature in Pentax cameras that the screen is kept at a constant illumination level, as far as is practical. The Digital Preview feature is available to help assess any final exposure.

It is not exposure you want to lock, it is brightness of the screen you want to keep constant, and for that it is probably better to use a semi-automatic mode that keep the brightness constant by varying exposure.

I don't quite understand OP's problem. As far as I know, K1 M mode sets live view brightness based on exposure settings. If live view is too dim, e.g using a flash, but in a situation where the rear LCD is used to adjust focus manually with focus peaking, it is done by pulling the DoF preview switch. Pulling DoF preview will bring LCD brightness to a good level for focus peaking, stop down the lens so that focus can be adjusted perfectly.
