Godox MF-R76: Way to keep from rotating?

Hi all.

I have dabbled in macro photography on and off, but just got my first dedicated macro flash (Godox MF-R76) to compliment my new Canon RF 100/L Macro lens.

I was rather befuddled that the ring flash is completely freely rotating -- that seems odd given that you can tune the two halves independently, and you would want to have it, most likely, either vertical (more light from above or below) or horizontal (more light on one side). In its default state, mine likes to rotate to about 20 degrees from horizontal, but rotates really easily.

I read all of the documentation and web site, and all it says is "it's supposed to do that".

Is there an accessory or "trick" to lock it in one orientation?

Thanks,
Dan

my led ring light does that too, annoyingly. a bit of tape or bluetack on the back helps hold it
