R7 and R10; Quick to be Dumped?

Despite the short time they've been available, as of today there are 12 R7s and 14 R10s listed on the MPB/US site alone.

What means this if anything?

ANSWER:
Canon EOS R10 Canon EOS R7

all in like new condition..maybe Canon dumped returned to them cause they do not want to sell r7 refurbished on their site yet, or somebody bought a bunch for a specify purpose and is done with them. on the flip side B&H has 1 and its open box, adorama has NONE..maybe they dumped to get a r6II..maybe MPB giving best price to sell to used

"The fact is that relatively few photographers ever master their medium. Instead they allow the medium to master them and go on an endless squirrel cage chase from new lens to new paper to new developer to new gadget, never staying with one piece of equipment long enough to learn its full capacities, becoming lost in a maze of technical information that is of little or no use since they don't know what to do with it."

Wow - none on the UK site right now - R10's typically selling used in mint condition at up to 85% of new price and R7's 95% of new price quickly.   And often one finds still stock issues with some retailers for new bodies although no more than a couple of weeks late now.

Both excellent cameras within doing what they say on the tin - coupled with good noise reduction and fast cards in CRAW or jpeg - it's just rolling shutter I can see which limits them really in the APSC world.   No obvious replacement yet inside Canon anyway - although the OM1 is tempting.

Why would it really mean anything? Maybe people decided they didn't like the APS-C bodies, or something like that. Or maybe it's just a coincidence. Anyway, my R7 has been fine, and as far as I know, there's nothing particularly wrong with these cameras. If you want 'em, have at whatever deals you can get!

Relatively cheap, and relatively brand new... I think a lot of disposable income was spent and now the honeymoon is over. Currently, the new and shiny toys to have, are the R8 and R6 Mark II. Then the R5 Mark II will spur a bunch of sales for everything lower, and then the R1 will do the same. Never ending.

The more money people have to throw away, the better the secondary market inventory will look when these new bodies release.

None at all on the MPB UK site.  Perhaps we Brits are less likely to buy and sell on a whim?

We have the energy crisis, food, fuel, monthly bills increased and mortgage rates coupled with property value decline.  Possibly this is causing more caution?

Also the market place for photographers in the UK could be squeezed a little? I've no evidence but thinking it's possible.

Getting dumped because the Samsung Galaxy S23Ultra just came out with 200Mpx and it fits in your pocket better.

Selling for $1469, or a full $30 off new retail. Hardly indicative of collapsing demand, I'd think

Honestly, a bit baffling. How do they expect to sell any units at all with such a paltry discount?

There is a lot of truth to this.  I just got a S23 Ultra and bought a M200 kit in December.  The M200 is no longer needed because the S23 Ultra is good enough to do 90% of what the M200 can do.  Also, the S23 Ultra can do many more things that the M200 can never do.  I will be selling all my APS-C gear and buying the R8 and a few lenses to add to my other RF lenses.  The only exception is that I will keep one EF L lens.  For my use cases the R8 and the S23 Ultra will take care of about all my needs.

I think a lot of people who buy into ILC gear get overwhelmed by the learning curve that comes with the gear. They don't want the hassles, frustrations, time consumption and lugging large heavy gear around. Especially when an upper tier smartphone can meet most of their photography needs without all the hassles.

Well, maybe they really are “like new”. Maybe they were review copies? MPB probably isn’t in a hurry.

Could they be returns from people taking advantage of a lenient return policy?  Or maybe they were kit lens bundles that have been de-bundled??
