Re: A Pollen

Is this a stack of multiple images?

Have you previously described your rig for getting 100x magnification?

Nice image!

Yes, This is 21 stacked at 1.125um steps, with a Nikon 100x microscope objective.

Awesome rig!

What brand rails are you using? The one I have works but it doesn't have micrometer adjustment - which would be nice.

I usually try to dial in focus manually so I get peaking and then adjust the focus rail to advance the peaking from near to far. So far that has been working OK for my casual attempts.

Re: Awesome rig!

The stage is Chinese micro adjustable xyx & rotation.
The camera has an older linear actuator that has 1.125um steps & is manually turned.
For 100 x magnification you need every thing to be rock stable.
Even playing music is out of the question, as it will vibrate the camera & you can see the micron movements to the beat !

Re: A Pollen

That is amazing.  Can you tell us the species the pollen is from?

Yes, I am told it is Conyza canadensis or similar.
