Two questions:

  • Was this with Raynox attached?
  • How close was your nose to the alien?
  • No three: what size is the spider?

Good captures but scary...in principle the shadows and the light in general could have been a bit more diffused, using a diffuser. But good detail.

Re: Huntswoman

Thank you for your interest Bas. No raynox used. The pictures are indeed a bit glary and overexposed. I posted them because the fangs were showing nicely. A diffuser would have been a good idea. I took the pics quickly in a dark corner before the beast ran off. Somehow this spider had got into my house despite my precautions to keep funnel webs out, and climbed up to the ceiling of my entry way. I found it when I came home at night. I was holding the camera way above my head while kneeling on a precarious stool. I tried to tidy the pictures up a bit. This was a typical full grown female huntsman, body about one inch, maybe a bit more, legspan maybe four inches. the front of the Olympus 60mm macro lens was maybe two inches from its face.
