They are good, but not what I prefer to take. I used to take them like that, but no longer. When I'm using a telephoto lens, I'll find a background like a building or sign so everything sharp. Or if that is not possible, water or sand would make the background soft without distracting elements. I've now developed an ability to take street photos with much shorter focal lengths. My last "little dog big dog" photo was an example of that. For those kinds of photos, I now use the tilted LCD screen at a lower level, rather than bringing the camera up to the eye level and using the viewfinder. The photos are taken much faster that way, without moving the camera up and down constantly.
Again, it's just my preference. It's something I've been working on over the years to improve...to what I like...but may not be the best for other photographers.
