Show Your Snaps...February 13, 2023

They are good, but not what I prefer to take. I used to take them like that, but no longer. When I'm using a telephoto lens, I'll find a background like a building or sign so everything sharp. Or if that is not possible, water or sand would make the background soft without distracting elements. I've now developed an ability to take street photos with much shorter focal lengths. My last "little dog big dog" photo was an example of that. For those kinds of photos, I now use the tilted LCD screen at a lower level, rather than bringing the camera up to the eye level and using the viewfinder. The photos are taken much faster that way, without moving the camera up and down constantly.

Again, it's just my preference. It's something I've been working on over the years to improve...to what I like...but may not be the best for other photographers.

Also when I'm at people events, I work on keeping everything sharp in the photo. Now with groups of people, that can be difficult. So I try to see if I can get a close as I can to the event and use shorter focal lengths. If I use the telephoto lens, I'll try to see if I can isolate the subject matter without other distracting elements. It's tough to do, but fun and challenging.

Thanks for the reply. Your sunset looks super as well.
Thanks.

I wanna show this one too-it is my favorite one so far and i took it 2 days ago on the same evening, but on the beach.

Award-winning level i think-might actually enter it somewhere;-)

What a beautiful pic !

When Marie went in a care home last year, her (old) cat decided it had enough. Pearl just died six months later.

Then my Marie passed away in January. I’m happy to still have Miso with me as I don’t have children (and no nephews and nieces). I don’t feel alone because a dog in a house is a strong presence.

I sent him for grooming two days ago. Good to go for about 10 weeks.

Regards,
There is always something to shoot/snap, you just have to know how to do it and have the right gear.

Again condolences for you; sorry to hear of Marie's passing. That's nice that you have a dog like Miso.
