Pix for the Week Ending February 10th to 12th, 2023
3

Hello Sigma Shooters!

February has arrived and the weather is very cold here in Denver. Time for our weekly show and tell about images taken with a Sigma cameras and lenses. Remember the drill, you can enter up to 3 images and it would be helpful if you give you post a title so that comment will be directed properly.

Now go out and shoot some pix and have fun. Members in the northern hemisphere try to stay warm!

End terrace

Very little editing to produce this photo taken with the 10-20mm, it will converge verticals in an instant. In Camera Raw a button that will fix verticals and horizontals in an instant. The Sun did most of the other heavy lifting. Ignore the date info, the picture was taken 8 February 2023.

Re: End terrace

Beautiful minimalism, Steve. I like it a lot.

It might look good as high contrast black and white image.

Very pleasing.

That makes me think that I could put a Raynox close-up lens on my 200mm Nikkor on the fp.

Re: End terrace

Converting to monochrome. I ran it through PS, something of a curate's egg. While everything except the wall is acceptable the wall is hideous and destroys the photo. The person appearing as furtle might be the Steve in your memory. He lives about 30 miles from me but we have never met.

Mystic Morning... Havängsdösen

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

Though it was raining, we decided to go to the beach.

And there the sun broke through - happy we went

Sigma DP3Merrill, 5 pics stitched together - minor PP: lifting some shadows and adding a bit of texture to the stones.

I like this. Bold color with a clean minimal feeling composition.

Re: End terrace

I looked at this wall again on a cloudy day and noticed the thin horizontal line had gone. It took another sunny day to see it is a shadow from a cable. On minimalist considerations I could clone it out. Thanks for your comment.

Over the weekend I tried the latest fixing verticals button in Camera Raw on some buildings photos in my archive, they either lean or are pregnant despite use of old-style Free Transform in PS. Three improved but the 10-20mm defeated one even with Content-Aware fill.

An old pano
1

I'm currently working on this pano from 2017. (This is walking distance from my house.)

I had previously made a large 3, 24x36 canvas wrap, so 9 feet by 2 feet. I wasn't too happy with it, even tho it was one of those '90% off specials' and only cost about $100 for all 3. It was dull, canvas doesn't show detail well, and I didn't like the high tension lines.

Here's a 100% crop:

So I'm going to print it on paper and stiffen the prints with foam board. 3 panels, hung from a rail on the wall.

David

p.s. I did take some new pix today

Very nice pano David, thanks for sharing.

PS.  What camera and lens did you use to capture the images and what software did you use for the stitching?

( had to go digging thru my stack of external hard drives to find the original data.)

5 images with a DP3M, stitched with PTGiu.
