Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

I purchased a gently used  X30 a few years ago and purchased  a thumb rest for it.  I have large hands and use a "hand grip" and "thumb rest" on most all of my cameras.  But I have never been able to find a "hand grip" for the X30?  Was a hand grip ever made for the Fuji X30?  Thank You.

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

There are a few options on Amazon. I had a Mieke one and it was perfect.

I've never seen one, you could try a leather half case. I was happy with just thumb grip but the factory rubber coating seemed to be coming unglued a little in the grip area so I added a fake leather half case. Not thrilled with the result tbh but it does make the camera handle a little larger.

Fuji X30

Just bought a Fuji X30 At a garage sale for $200. On the one hand that seems like a very good price. On the other hand it has a small sensor.

Bottom line is what is your experience using this camera?

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

I've never seen a grip for the X30. I have one (an X30), I've used it on several trips over the years. I really like the camera and always wished Fuji would have made an updated version with a bigger sensor. I do have some nice images from mine despite the sensor size.

The Fuji MHG-XT10 still fits the X-T30 and the version II.

Edit: My bad. You were talking about the X30, not the XT30 (insert eyes rolling emoticon here).

Perfect fun quality camera, ideal as a Fuji game starter when set up for least NR. X100 type leafshutter experience, very pleasant. Effective OIS. The afficionados of it hang out in the quiet Finepix umbrella forum above this. Do note that the evf/display preview will often (rather consistently) look a touch warmer/more yellow than the actual result review. Its reputation for rendering too cool stems from there I think. Working the wb>shift matrix to counter this helps out.

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

Thanks for ALL the responses. I guess my search fore a X30 hand grip is over. (Leather case might be an option (if still available).

BTW......I also have a thumb rest attached on the x30 AND had the experience of the rubber coating separating on the right-bottom area (grip).  I returned it to Fuji for servicing and they did a masterful job.  (It took a little while).  I really like this (X30) camera....still getting great results with this small sensors.  A hand grip would make it perfect!

Oh well,  I'm fortunate to  own the (elusive) X100V (with thumb, hand grip, lens hood accessories).

All the best......keep shooting!

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

Thanks for the lead....and  when I search Amazon (and other sites), I couldn't fine an "X30" hand grip.  Do you have any specific information on that "perfect" grip?

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

No one officially makes one. Or if they did they don’t now.

However, find a shop/person in your area that does 3D printing or fabrication  and have something created. Wont be cheap, but you may get exactly what you want.

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

Thanks....this would be an expensive and (unaffordable) solution....but it would certainly work.

Re: Fuji X30 - Hand Grip?

Update: I followed an earlier suggestion and bought (and expecting in the mail) a half leather case for my X30….(while I could still find one). I consider this an investment since there’s just something about the X30 that makes me feel comfortable working with it. I also own the much sought after and very capable X100V. The results I get from the X30…..(in my opinion) are often on par with the X100V.

Since DP Review is closing, thanks in advance for all the previous comments about the (never made) X30 hand-grip. Cheers….
