It gets the job done

I have used this camera for quite a while in my lightning and astronomy. It gets the job done. Good for starters just getting into it if you want to start with certain scenes, burst shooting, and the like. However, it is not meant to really be used in cold or wet conditions, as it is not weather sealed, and although you can manually change certain things, you have to go through the menu, which can be time consuming, especially if you are doing a fast-paced thing. It's okay at astronomy, but not compared to other ones. All in all, it's a decent starting camera, good for beginners.

Hey, as long as you are satisfied,  don`t even worry one little bit what anyone else thinks about it.

Not all of us need the latest and greatest new camera that comes down the pike.

That is true to some extent. But like phones and computers, there is a point where they will no longer keep updating a particular camera and they move on. The newer ones will update much more into the future before they move on.  Also, with lightning photography, since I am often in humid environments or wet conditions, without weather sealing, it doesn't really help. I have family up north, and it is not great in cold climates either.
