Re: Original EOS M -- are you still using it?

I have an M, M50, and a M6 II. I rarely use my M. Even with updated firmware, the autofocus is still just plain terrible. If you can afford it, I say go with the M6 II. By the way, the electronic viewfinder is optional and works great, if you prefer to have one. The only flaw there is it uses the flash socket, meaning you can't mount a large flash on the camera while you are using the EVF.

Mine only gets used when I need a really small camera.  It fits nicely in a jacket pocket, or cargo pocket with the 22mm pancake.

IQ holds up surprisingly well, but the AF is still awful.

May get an M200 before they go away.  We'll see.

I totally agree with you! I also find that the M is a great option for when I need a small camera to carry around in a pocket. Even though camera phones have taken over the compact market, I still find value in having a dedicated camera. I'm thinking of picking up an M200 before they disappear too. It's just like with the Ricoh GXR modular range a few years ago, once they were discontinued, they became harder and harder to find.

I often use my trusty old EOS M and the 22mm, my fun pocket cam when taking pictures with the screen makes sense (which my 6D is indeed not a master of).

Just bought an RP, but I keep the old M of course.

I still use both of mine (one IR converted)!

The original EOS M is a good addition to the EOS M6 mark 2. Magic Lantern partially compensates for missing features, such as focus picking.

If you need to work with pulsed light sources and native zoom lenses in the genre of reportage, then the M6(2) at shutter speeds of 1/120 - 1/200 gives microsmaz. In this case, the original EOS M can insure. And M6(2) will perform close-up tasks.

Very cool.  I should take a look at tinkering with ML again.  Its been years...

Does it take multiple captures or just one, once it is triggered?

Thanks.

I set 5 pics a once. I think it's individual, it depends on the nature of the scene. You can also play with the delay. I set 0.5 s and 1c

I liked that the birds were not afraid of the shutter. Unlike the nikon D700.
