It is a wonderful walk around camera and lens.  The M6II is a completely enjoyable camera.  Good user interface, good color, good everything.

Re: EOS M 22mm f2 IQ?

I've had a lot of un with the 22mm pancake over the past 10 or so years.  The quality of the shots it can make is up to my standards.  Take a look at some of the image threads dedicated to that lens.

Here's one I got in Indonesia back in 2016.

When I got an M5 several years ago off a guy on Craigslist, it came with an 11-22mm.  He said that it was an amazing lens, and that I wouldn't need the little 22 anymore.

If you compare the MTF charts, the zoom should be a little sharper.  I dunno.  I do take more pictures with the zoom, and the 11-22 is a pretty serviceable walk around lens.  I just find the 22mm pancake to be more fun.

The 22mm pancake paired with the 55-200mm is a very powerful pair.  When traveling light, it is my favorite setup.

That said, since getting the 32mm prime, the 22mm hardly gets any use.

If you don’t mind using the detachable viewfinder this lens makes the M6II a better walkaround camera then the 100x from Fuji, and you still get to change lenses if you wish.

From what I recall, the 11-22 was quite sharp st 22mm, but that was at f/5.6.

Nice images!

The backlighting here does show what I found --- this lens doesn't do as well as when there's strong backlight or a light source in the frame. It tends to have some flare and washes out the contrast a bit.

The Rokinon 12mm f2 is a bit better, but the Siggy 16 f1.4 and Canon EF-M 32mm f1.4 are really outstanding at controlling flare and handling backlight (at least with the lens hood on which is how I use them).

Small walk-around travel kit: EOS M 22/2, M18-150, a Godox flash and a flash trigger.

I'll traveling to UK/Venice/Dolomites this summer and I'm probably taking M6mkii, M11-22, 22/2 (32/1.4 a little tight for me), M18-150, Godox AD200, a trigger, and a stand. The flash stuff isn't part of my "walk-around kit". Not sure if I'll take a point and shoot or just rely on my phone for days when I don't want to let anything around. You can find used EOSM lenses pretty cheap.
