X-T5 - shortcut to formatting

I have only recently upgraded from my X-T2 to the X-T5.

What a difference and a great decision !!

One shortcut I am struggling to replicate though, is the one that allows for a formatting of the memory cards without having to dive into the menus.

Previously, a long press on the track button followed by a click of the rear command dial used to do the trick - directly accessing the format menu. I understand that this was still a working shortcut on the X-T4, but cannot find it on the X-T5.

Am I missing anything ?

Thanks

Geoff

Pretty sure it's the same as before, but a longer press is required than with the X-T2.

Just figured out it today - works, but longer press on the command dial is required.

Thanks Erik,

I guess it’s always possible that my assigning of a shortcut for the back command wheel is getting in the way. Looks like I may have to think again!

I appreciate your reply

Hi Geof: Did you solve this?

I'm having the same problem with my new x-t5

I'm new to the XT5 and the XTx line. So, I fiddled with this and got it working.

Press and hold the Trash button. While holding the Trash button down, press and hold the Rear Dial down until the format menu comes up. It comes up after a short delay of a second or two.

Re: X-T5 - shortcut to formatting

Hi Pete,

yes I did …..

When in shooting mode, I hold down the delete button and then give a long (longer than usual) press on the back command dial. The format option then appears.

the press on the command dial is longer than I was used to on the X-T2

Cheers
