verry small Sensor

I had this as my main camera for many years. Everything about it is great exept the Sensor size. The verry small Sensor size makes it verry bad it low light. I was going to upgrade 2 the canon powershot sx740 hs but found it had the same small sensor. So i upgraded to the underrated Olympus PEN E-PL10

I have one of those too, and it's stashed away in a drawer.  Its battery is better used as a spare for my G7X II.

The MAIN problem is the SMALL Pixel Area size due to:
• Populating the 1/2.3" sensor with 20 MP
the 1/2.3" sensor is 6.17mm x 4.55mm = 28.07 sq. mm. Do the math to see how
small the Pixel Area Size is.
• The lens SMALL Max Apertures.

Just by doing a little research could have easily known this genre of camera not suited for low light conditions,

Without posting sample out-of-the-camera image(s) with EXIF data one cannot 'assess' what you're referring to as "low light".

Below are some images from my SX130 1/2.3" sensor 12 MP:

1600 ISO interior restaurant low lighting, single incandescent light on wall, taken with ZS50. Prior to post processing the RAW image, the pizza toppings in the foreground were indistinguishable and the wall behind girl was completely dark/ no visual details.

For for low light/ higher ISO's; post processing image 'will' be required for optimum image quality.

Even with the Olympus PEN E-PL10, for low lighting use lens with at least a f/4 max aperture to be able to use lower ISO's.

Prior to buying any camera, read several full reviews that have full size sample images to view.

Cheers,
Jon
