Profiles to make EF primes like L colours

Canon L has better colours than their EF primes with similar sharpness. Are their profiles to correct the EF lenses so the colours become similar to L lenses?

L colours same, more contrast, vibrance, flare resistance, tonal range

The colours are likely virtually the same. What the non-L lenses lack is contrast, vibrance, and high flare resistance, to name a few. L lens tonal transitions will also be better due to the increased resolution.

I have tested L vs. non-L lenses in the past but I own only one non-L lens now, the 15 fisheye, hard to test against a different lens. What I noticed was warmer colors, especially the reds. There was difference among the L's, too.

Can you replicate it with a profile? Not really but you can try to get close.

Is this thread discussing SOOC jpgs? If you shoot raw, you can make your reds "warmer or cooler" or whatever you want. I only ever shoot raw, so maybe that's why this thread doesn't necessarily make any sense to me based on my workflow so that's why I ask.

The lens color sensitivity introduces a "signature" that cannot be compensated fully for in RAW. It is a kind of a metameric "error."

I'm going to create lens profiles with a Spyder chart and see how that goes

Re: Profiles to make EF primes like L colours

I bought the Spyder 24 and X-Rite Passport 2. X-Rite is much better as it creates a profile where as the Spyder24 creates a preset.

Now colour corrected, there is little difference between the L and EF lenses. If anything the L has lost saturation where as the EF have better colours and saturation.

They would probably be best to add vibrance or a preset on top of the profiles but now there is little between the prime EF and L lens..The primes are actually sharper than my L
