Is is possble ot remove Program name from EXIF of GPEGs made by DxO PhotoLab

I use DxO PhotoLab 6 and there is an option to include none of the EXIF, IPTC, GPS coordinates etc. when saving JPEGs But when I choose "none" the file still contains "Program name" "DxO PhotoLab 6.2". I thought none meant none. Is there a way to remove that reference from the file properties. Sometime I use a very old program Exifer to strip EXIF from files but it didn't work to remove this reference. Is there an easy way to do it?

If not thousands of pictures, then you can right-click mouse on file, then > Properties > Details > Remove Properties and Personal Infomation.. There is possible choose, which one of properties info remove from file info. Also you can remove info about programm used to edit picture.

That works, though some other minor metadata might be left in place.

Photoshop's "Save for Web ...' can also do it.

Thank you! That's it. That option has always been there. I was so used to seeing it there it never occurred to me to try it.

And it works on multiple files at the same time. Select them all, Properties, Details. This creates a copy of each file but the original file(s) can be deleted.

Is it the metadata that's not visible in Details? Can you give some examples what may be left in place?

It could depend on what type of file you work with. I exported a Nikon .NEF from DxO PL5 to JPEG with metadata 'removed'. The software name was still present, as you have stated, along with some other metadata.

I then stripped that exported JPEG a second time with Windows File Explorer. The software name is now gone, but these items remain:

Stripping the exported PL5 JPEG with Photoshop's 'Save for Web...' leaves a little less behind:

In both cases, it's pretty generic data.

There is an app called EXIFTool that can update exif data in batch.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/exiftool/

Yes, I was aware of it but there is no good GUI and I need to this only occasionally for a few files, so ease of use is important.

You think ExifToolGui isn't good? I've been using it for years. I used it to identify metadata in my earlier post. In fact, it does the best job by far of stripping metadata from my test file, leaving only this:

I tried to use it long time ago but something was not right. I don't remember the details. I just downloaded the latest version and it seems fine. I will use it too. Thanks.
