Show Your Snaps...January 30, 2023

Not tack sharp, horribly backlit and the noon sun glaring off the ice was no help. But its why I love photography I can remember the day I watched this for a long time now.

Well sill not seeing migrating ducks so here are a few more eagles

Technically, die hard birders would be quick to point out, it's a 3 to 3 1/2 year old immature eagle. It's the one flying in the next set I shared with the partially white head.  Trust me I get called out on calling them Juvenile all the time. 🤣 The one in the next set teetering on the top of the tree would be considered  Juvenile since no white plumage at all yet. Maybe a first or second year

Thank you Mocha and Dunlin, here is a red tailed hawk ,to me they look very similar to your buzzards on that side of the pond. As you can see they dont get along with crows very well.

That second photo is stunning.

Thank you, I have never seen them hunt near water before. I am not sure if the crows were just forcing it out of it's normal habitat or if they do hunt the rocks for rodents and snakes.

I once had the pleasure of sitting on the banks of the Gallatin River coming out of Yellowstone National Park and watched a bald eagle fishing in the river.

One of the nicest memories I have.
