The 7D returns from the depths...
8

Hi everyone, a long time between posts for me or more to the point my 7D.

I was replying to a post on the Micro Four thirds forum the other day about hoarding of old photo equipment and found at my neglected 7D cocooned in a Lowepro sarcophagus.

So I turned it on to find the battery dead, not surprising so after a recharge like Lazarus it was soon having a walk around the garden to live again.

Nothing of note really, however the Minolta colour science was soon brought back to my eyes.

And I always liked the way the files converted to B/W.

The 7D had been sleeping with one of my favourite lens from the old days of film, the Minolta 24-105 f3.5/4.5. Such a small lens for the focal range and was/is a great size to use.

When I get out and about again I must try to make sure the 7D gets to tag along.

Cheers.

Stephen.

Was the first shot processed in Color Efex or similar? The blue being pulled darker around the leaves looks like the tonal contrast highlight protection that the Efex suite does. I wouldn't expect to see something like this from the 7D JPG engine.

Thanks mate, no just processed from JPEG in Apple Photos, the result is from me just pushing the colour sliders a little too far.

I my defence I wear polarised sunglasses all the time, it had bee a cloudy week, and old friend came in from out of town...

Have a great weekend mate

Hmm... yeah, I have seen similar effects from other Apple-processed shots.

Thanks
