One of the most fascinating and enthralling stories of discovery.

A composite of five shots with alternate side lighting.

I took the red down 15 % but the compression wonks them up again

Thanks Jim, I bought a product turntable for Christmas and used it for this.

It works like a charm with no stutter- you can set it for exact step rotations or slew it with the button - for example it will rotate 1/8, stop for 4 s and proceed etc or continuous .

I find it almost silent- i

Also the Lume Cube Panel Pro is an unbelievable little light rig for still life - you can dial the white balance so here I kept it warm to burnish the gold.

The still life works wonders to fil the fall - winter dip in Photography .

What a great idea to show a piece of art like this.

I will give you credit when I use it.

Thanks Jim - there used to be a store in Seattle called Eleganza and that's where i picked him up in the early 2000s, he is about 10" h x8 w x 7 d.

he is not bronze - just plaster at $ 120 ( fittingly plaster ha ha ) but they did a great job with the paint and he is still hangin' in there with no issue.

Since boyhood mass amounts of buried treasure have held a particular charm for me.

It ensures  pretty good symmetry to the shots, you could make it perfect by placement but a slight deviation IMHO gives a more dynamic feel sincee each side is lit close but not identical.

Roger,

I was thinking about using your approach to showing the art, not the art itself.

I have a clay decorated pot I may try it with.

I understand, a sharp light angle mimics natural drama... the crawl is  just a demo of using  script  - pottery should look great play with the white balance - it can  give a very different look.

I have a Lume Cube as well. I will play with that, both angles and color temps.
