Canon EF-M Lens Specifications (handy on phone)
8

I don’t know the extent this may be useful to others, but I find it convenient to keep on my phone for quick reference when I am deciding which of my native EF-M lenses to stick on – so maybe someone else will too (or use it to build your own list of specs for just your lenses)…

Notes:

These are the native EF-M lenses I own (except the Sigma 30mm which is included but I already have the reportedly slightly better Canon 32mm) – there are probably other good 3rd party EF-M lenses that deserve to be on the list

There might be some unfortunate variance in the lens lengths because Canon doesn’t seem to consistently reference whether the lens is rotated fully extended or not with its length specs

Don’t burn down my house because the rating for your favorite lens is 3.5 and not 5 – I took these rating from a variety of web and YouTube reviews plus my own use, all of which is unquestioningly subjective

Do you have all the native Canon EF-M lenses? Impressive! What do you use the most? What do you love the most?

Intuition tells me the M-series is finally (and actually) coming to an end, so I picked-up the 2 outstanding EF-M lenses I didn't already have to accompany my M6 II (also have a M6 and original M).  Just maybe Canon will release one more updated M50 III as a final M-series cash cow... we shall see.

I shoot mostly indoors, so wide angle lenses get the most use in my kit for that reason. Hands-down the Sigma 16mm lens is my favourite (if there had to be just one, despite its comparative size and weight, this would be it), follow by the Canon 22mm and 11-22mm.

BTW, the Sigma trio of 16/30/56 EF-M primes are on-sale right now, I believe until early-mid Feb.

And here's an updated image after I corrected a couple of omissions (I would upload the Excel spreadsheet so it's easier for others to edit if they want, but only see a way to upload photos):

I have never found a 18-55 for sale  but otherwise I have all of them.

Believe me, you don't need one.

Firmware : Dual Sensing IS

Hi

I hadn't really caught that there were firmware updates to the EF-M lenses.

I see that i.e. the firmware 2.0.0 brings "Dual Sensing IS" for the EOS M50.

Is anyone aware if there were any intermediate firmwares for some lenses that brought other improvements?

Re: Canon EF-M Lens Specifications (handy on phone)

The Laowa 9 mm is missing - a very good and useful lens.

I also have all native ef-m lenses plus the Sigma 56 mm and except the 18-150.

My 22 mm is not as good as my 11-22 at 22 mm - I might try another copy in future.

Otherwise your post is very useful!
