tedolph not the only one goofin...

Context: tedolf strongly dislikes the newer Olympus cameras since they removed useful, albeit fringe features, like the EVF port and the ability to autofocus four thirds lenses, which will almost definitely not affect you.

Why not use the auto-lens cap from Olympus? The one made for the 14-42 EZ pancake lens. It fit the Lumix 12-32 and is a lot less bulky than the one you are using.

It moves with the zoom ring.

my issue is that it moves outwards like petals

The Olympus accessory open inwards, so the accessory remains the same size.

When the zoom is out, size is irrelevant.

Two reasons not to use it:

1) It vignettes at the wide end. You can cut away some of the inside edges, or just use the JJC clone that does not vignette.

2) The zoom ring on the 12-32 is very poorly made, the outer part is attached to the inner plastic part using just double-sided tape, and it's prone to detaching. The extra force required to retract the lens with LC-37C caps, Oly or JJC, make this more likely to happen.

That being said, this earlier push-on petal-style JJC cap with the flaps is known to also cause problems where it pushes on to the lens.

Well goddammit nobody told me that. Haha. It's okay though. If this lens borks I can get a new one.
