Succumbing to the R6 Mark II & Initial Feedback
2

After almost a month and before the window for return closes, I turned in the R6 in favor of the new R6 Mark II. Before I share my experience after three days of using it, let me flat-out say I will miss the R6. It's a heck of a camera!

Now with my new toy:

Awesome 24mp. I mean - the color contrast is spot on, the clarity, the overall rendition of the image - there is something to it that makes the image easy to edit at post, and often not requiring any editing except for cropping / leveling. The AWB especially outdoors has for me been 100% spot-on.

Overall it's more snappy than the already fast R6. If you know how fast the R6 is, you know what I'm talking about.

Maybe it's just me - but there is a bit of a learning curve even coming from the R6. I'm not talking the muscle-memory adjustment on power switches (a blessing to now have a dedicated photo and video switch on the left side of the camera). I am talking focus options, connectivity options, etc. that I must say - Canon should bring this menu and all its options to the R5, R6, R7 and R10. Come on, Canon!
