Re: Female jumping spider

I am getting to like spiders more each day.  I still hate the webs getting on me.

The number of species even in a small area is hard to imagine.

I am impressed that you get that close with a 30 mm lens.

Re: Female jumping spider

Yes. I really like spiders.though I guess funnel webs are scary. The jumpers are cute and clever as you know. Some bigger ones catch lizards and frogs much bigger than themselves. I am hoping to get some pictures in the tropical north soon.

I usually use the Olympus 60mm with extension tubes and a top mounted light or flash. The Olympus in camera stacking works with the 60mm and the 30mm and the tubes. The 30mm which reaches 1.25 sat on my shelf for ages. It really needs to get too close for maximum magnification. But I had never tried it with the extension tubes so I thought I'd give it a go. Then I got rid of the tubes and I am just trying it out for a while without the tubes and without the stacking. I liked this pic a lot. She has babies in amongst the silk. I tried not to hassle her too much
