Hallo all, Seen this on you tube. Has anyone tried this for macro stacking? It's less $ than Stack shot or WeMacro. If so please give your coments. Thanks

It's $399, vs $299 for a WeMacro.

It appears that the drive mechanism is a rack and pinion, and the motor and power supply are in slider "puck", engaging with a rack in the rail. I much prefer the precision, ruggedness, and durability of the sort of lead screw mechanisms WeMacro and StackShot use.

As far as the slider itself, you can literally see wobble in their timelapse demos. Whatever they’ve used for the actual slider (some form of rollers or trucks, like a larger cinematic slider) doesn’t appear to be anywhere near as stable as the dual rods and bushings that WM and SS use.

Let's put it this way: it's been on the market two years, and you never hear of anyone using it for focus stacking. Macro shooters are the most unconventional "Look what I made a ____ do!" shooters in the world: if this thing worked we would be hearing about it.

The term "mirrorless" is totally obsolete. It's time we call out EVIL for what it is. (Or, if you can't handle "Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens" then Frenchify it and call it "LIVE" for "Lens Interchangeable, Viewfinder Electronic" or "Viseur électronique").

Re: Miops slider +

Thank you for your answer. WM appears to be more presice and stable,... but there is a lot of cables and bits & pieces to connect and getting tangled. The Miops slider is nice and compact, clutter free. I've watched the 45 min. video; it seemes to work flawless. You don't say if you actualy own this product or have user experiance. I wonder which is better? The Novoflex is on a whole level better but $$$$$ . Allan Walls has a review for WM, he's verv positive on this product. Thank you all for your input.
