In one morning part 2
7

This colorful one was under another leaf next to the other one.  She is guarding  her eggs.

She has some wonderful colors.

I saw a yellow speck on the edge of a leaf.

When I checked it with the macro lens, this is what I saw.  It is a very young crab or flower spider.  It only has three legs left.  If by some miracle it survives, it will grow new legs.

Jumping looks like it would be a challenge.

Nice. Does that one have 8 eyes? And did you shoot handheld?

Re: In one morning part 2

Thanks.  It does have 8 eyes.  Most spiders do but some have 6 and there are a few with only 4.

I have a plastic folding foot stool I can sit on and I think I was using my mono pod for most of the shots.   It is a little better than hand held for me.

I do a lot of shots hand held but the very small subjects are just too hard for me.  I stopped having steady hands or anything at around 60 years old.

Thanks. Very interesting about those eyes. And so beautiful to see in the photos!
