This looks incredible. I have wanted to do a series of shots of my old photo equipment collection and this is a really interesting technique/look. I will see about giving it a try...

Looks really good. Fantastic light one wouldn't guess comes from a flashlight.

I liked your previous light painting too. It actually inspired me to try. Didn't bother with arrangements, just put a low basket with fruit on a black T-shirt (the only dark fabric I had around). But the light came out great even if it was my first try. I've wondered how to accomplish this kind of light and now I know - a flashlight. I'll definitely try to get more skilled at this. Just need to get some props.

That almost looks

like a Dutch Master 17th century work due to the lichting. Absolutely stunning!

Super nice work.  I love doing light painting but I have not achieved anything this nice.

Beautiful indeed, I have to second all the other comments here. Did you use any special kind of torchlight for the light painting? E.g. did you use different wide and narrow beams and strengths of light for individual "light strokes"?

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I used a Coast G20 inspection light (shown in the photo below) although it's probably not super critical to use an inspection light. The inspection light has a very defined circle of light that I thought might have some advantage but I've made modifiers for the flash light that negate the tight circle. The modifiers in the photo from left to right are a small diffuser, a large diffuser and a pseduo light brush. The diffuser is basically just a tube made from poster board with a couple layers of scotch tape over the end, gives a soft but somewhat focused light. The large diffuser is a 3/4" PVC elbow with 3/4 to 1/2 reducer and a sleeve for fitting on the light made out of poster board. The pseudo brush is poster board flattened out on the exit side. I can paint a strip of light across an image with that. Editing an image now that I employed that tool.
I find the large diffuser is great for working soft light into areas of the photo and the small diffuser is great for adding highlights.

You made most interesting tools here. Thanks for sharing the info! You certainly are an accomplished and inventive light painter, kudos!
