Tamron EF 85mm f1.8 VC on M6 II?

Hi,

has anyone experience with this lens on M6 II (or any other M body)?

Is it working properly?
Actually I was going to get an EF 100mm F2 but that deal went rotten...

I am sure it will work fine.

However it's best to use it with a full frame body.

I've used that lens on the R. It's a great lens on the R, although the focusing wasn't fast enough for my needs. It could be easily fast enough for your needs.

I think it's save to assume it will work well on the M6II.

Is that because of sharpness issues, due to the high resolution (pixel pitch) of the M6ii’s sensor?

I'd recommend the 100L instead

That's 160mm in stead of 136mm full frame equivalent. Can be either a good or bad thing.

I expect the Tamron to be sharper at f/2.8, especially at longer distances.

on my m6II, at 7 fps, and dxo PL, the 100L hits focus 7 for 7, and is a dream setup for me with macro capability, portrait capability, and a mfd of 1 foot

if you need shorter, go with the 56 f1.4

I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying the Tamron is sharper at f/2.8. There's also more light available when needed.  Magnification factor is pretty bad admittedly.

That one has no IS.

I had the tamy 45 f1.8 on my dslr's and it wouldn't focus properly, but on my RP it focused fine but I had to turn off the incamera corrections because it gave me weird looking stuff in the viewfinder - once I did that it was fine, but I sold it, and gave away my 50 f1.8 stm, because my m32 f1.4 on m6II  is my 50 fov

the reason I said the 100L is I have no shutter shock and close to 100% hits at 7 fps

best wishes though, it has a good chance for you
