Viltrox Adapter - Tripod Mount

This might be a “silly” question, but… can the screw-on tripod mount be left off of the Viltrox EF-EOS M mount adapter when you’re trying to save space & weight?

Yes, absolutely.

Do you mean the speed booster or normal adapter? With the speed booster the screw hole opens up into the adapter itself so I'd put tape covering it.

Shouldn’t be a problem, just put it on when mounting it to a tripod because of how much heavier the lens and adapter is compared to the camera. But if you’re using the camera handheld then I’d imagine you’re supporting the lens with your other hand.

Yes, but the Viltrox Speed Booster has a different tripod foot that is much harder to remove since you need an Allen wrench to remove two screws.

Exactly the right answer!  Kudos!
