fog "sketches": X-T2, TTArtisans 27mm, Acros

Sometimes I do photography the same way I draw in my sketchbook-- going for a quick capture that's more for note taking and the feel of the thing than it is for taking a step toward the kind of finished work I would put in a portfolio. Shooting like this is great for testing out a new lens, too. Fog in the Indiana Dunes State Park. I had a feeling the TT Artisan 27mm would be a good Acros lens, and it is. More polished square versions of these sketches will show up on my Instagram over the next few days.

That looks like Trail 2? Nice photos. I live near IDSP, it's a great source of inspiration. Millions of trees but certain ones call out to me to photograph them. Great to see this lovely park on this giant forum.

Tollleston Dune in Iindiana Dunes National park its an Oak Savana and like most its having a tough go of it. The Park does prescribed burns to aleviate fire hazzard.

Car stuck amidst the trees. Cant be seen when trees are leafed out. Was probably stolen as its burnt and the motors head is missing.

These taken on DEC 30 but the fog had mostly lifted.

It's the nice easy one that goes from behind the Wilson Shelter and loops around the base of the dune and through the wetlands on the boardwalk. Is that 2?  I am a walker, not a hiker, so I only know the simple ones. It was fabulous in the fog. I was walking two lenses, so keep an eye on the MFT forum for some more subject oriented color stuff.

Yep thats trail 2. If your making the loop returning on 10 to Wilsons Shelter Id call that a hike. LoL. Ill check out the M43 forum for more of your photos. That boardwalk looks very mysterious in the fog. The old boardwalk that was falling apart would have added some character to the fog photo but that's history now.

Yes, we came back on 10. It was a nice long walk, but there aren't enough elevation changes or challenges to really call it a hike in my book. The trail was in excellent shape in spite of the damp weather. I miss the old boardwalk too, but I feel a lot safer on the new one!

Good to hear its all up to snuff. By my calculation Trail 2 and the Trail 10 return link to wilsons would be about 5 miles. Thanks for sharing.

That sounds like a hike!

Just a long walk, dudes. On the flat, on a well kept dry trail. We were passed by a sporty young couple with a baby in an outdoorsy stroller. Little kids in Wellingtons, little dogs in fleece jackets.  It's actually easier on the knees than walking the same distance on the sidewalk.
