Comet C/2022 ZTF with M6ii, Siggy 150-600C, SkyGuider Pro tracker
4

Finally had a clear morning for comet hunting. Used only Sigma lenses. At long last I managed to capture a comet's long ion tail, although faintly, with 40 minutes of total exposure using an iOptron SkyGuiderPro tracking mount.

Comet C/2022 ZTF from 5-6 AM 1/27/2023 from Tarpon Springs, FL. Canon M6ii, Sigma 150-600mm f5.-6.3 C lens, 300mm, f5.6, 120 exposures at 20 seconds each stacked with DeepSkyStacker, processed in DxO Photolab. I left a few satellite trails in the image.

Comet C/2022 ZTF at 6 AM 1/27/2023 from Tarpon Springs, FL, between the Big and Little Dippers. Canon M6ii, Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens, f1.4, 10s, ISO 100, processed with DxO Photolab

Thanks Larry, I saw that comet mentioned in a newspaper last week, and wondered what it'd look like - if only I was brave enough to venture out in our freezing nights, and not much chance of a seeing a replay ...

Laughing Gulls
2

I don’t often photograph wildlife with a 24 mm lens, but sometimes you have to shoot the one you’re with. These are laughing gulls on the seafront at Progreso, near Mérida in Yucatan.

Regards,

Alan

Canon M50 Mark II with Canon EF to EF-M adapter and Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 at f/2.8, 1/2500 second, and ISO 100. (Cropped slightly to remove a distracting palm tree on the left. I was a bit too busy to frame carefully at the time.)

Why the requirement on date?

Just a few requirements:

2. Photos must be taken in January or February 2023.

Is there some particular reason for this requirement on date? I don’t always keep up with processing my photos, and elsewhere often share photos taken a few months ago. Thanks.

Regards,

Alan

This thread deals with shots, which are taken in January or February 2023.

There are several other threads in this forum, where shots can be uploaded independent of the date.

You’re just restating the requirement; you’re not explaining it or justifying it.

Because we want some recent photos in this thread, not something dug up from an old archive. I hope that makes it a little bit more interesting.

If you have photos taken a few months ago, you can use the thread for photos from October/ November/ December if you want. It is still open.

Or you can use some of the other threads. Hint: Search for "Post Your PHOTOS!" threads. 😃

I am a newly graduated college student. I spent the Chinese New Year in February and will soon go to the south to find a job. At present, the employment situation is very tense. During the Spring Festival, I try my best to relax myself and enjoy my time as an idle person.

I don't know why the pictures I exported from Photoshop don't have exif information.

Have a new day. Have a good day!

As you wish. Having seen the fragmentation of the other threads in this forum, I was hoping this set of threads would be welcoming and inclusive. Apparently not.
