Re: Combs Reservoir.

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

Yes, I tried walking around the reservoir that day and got stuck a third into the trail, the mud was that deep it was coming in over the top of my walking boots. I could see where they had tried repairing the pathways and had stopped, probably due to the rain we've been having. Hopefully nearer spring I will attempt it again.

Re: Love Canon Colors!

I agree.  When I switched from my Olympus DSLR cameras to Canon over 10 years ago, I noticed that the colors were close to the same.  I always like my Olympus colors.  So now I knew I would also like Canon images.

It seems to me the red colors are better now with my Canon T7i (800D) and Canon M50 MKII cameras (with out-of-the-camera JPEGs), but I haven't made a side to side comparison.  I noticed that when taking pictures of red rose flowers.

Interesting.

I'm considering getting a little Olympus mirrorless. I wonder if it's still the same.

I've read good things about Olympus' OOC JPGs, but I don't hear about it nearly as much as Canon Colours.

Perception is subjective and preference is personal, but I chime in — at the risk of making useless generalizations without taking into account the newer-model improvements and the quality of light at exposure time.

Regarding SOOC JPEG colours, I find Canon most attractive, Olympus a bit on the cold (blue) side and Panasonic a bit on the warm (orange) side.

In addition, I find Canon AWB (W) reliable.

Cheers.

No wonder, for that money.

Glad you liked it.

Maybe, in the Metaverse v3.1 I will be able to send you a bite.

Not sure who's winning.

Going to be fun getting that stake back out; knocked it in with a sledge hammer.

When we lived in Colorado, we had enough snow to bend down two branches of my peach tree.  It split at the trunk.  Normally, I believe it would have destroyed the tree, but I did something similar where I tied the branches back together so that it would heal itself.  Well, in the spring it did heal itself and everything was fine.  It was a special peach tree that I bought in a catalog from North Dakota.  It was one of those trees that would survive in very cold temperatures.  The peaches were yummy.

Is that a B&W photo or a color photo where everything is black and white? Is that a place for farm equipment storage?

Dig,

Yes, that's one of the Special Scene modes on my camera along with things like HDR and Soft Focus, etc.

It's called Grainy Black and White.

Like Auto, the camera chooses the ss and aperture.

Once upon a time, I guess, the barn used to house horses. Now, it's full of old junk and pieces of farm equipment.

I posted this image last year some time using the same creative filter:

PS: That's funny. Look at the lens information in the EXIF file for this picture

If the camera chooses the shutter speed and aperture that could yield much different photos than what the photographer intended, especially at the longer focal lengths.
