I see it was a problem way back.

I came across a few cases of green/magenta noise in shadows when reprocessing some NEX-5N photos. It isn't only Foveon sensors.

Probably limited dynamic range is the real problem.

When Monet was getting going with his career, the obvious brush marks were heavily criticised. Critics found the impressionist technique coarse and clumsy.

The Foveon colour blotches are a defect, not an intentional effect (unlike added film grain). It would be good to see less of them in images from the proposed full frame 3-layer camera.

Don,

If those defects are not eliminated in the expected X3 Full Frame sensor I believe Kazuto Yamaki will not release it to be used in a new camera.

Same with my Sony A7S.  And a pal is a pro photographer with some serious Canon kit and I noticed some of his pics he posted on Facebook had green/magenta in the shadows.    Best not try to increase the exposure of the shadows and let them be, umm, shadows.

Or go over the shadows in Photoshop (or similar) with a big soft brush in saturation mode. Or in color mode. Set a low percentage so you can build up gradually.
