Thank you ( DarnGoodPhotos ) for the links.

When searching before this forum thread existed I finally gave up and went with alternative. I will keep your case suggestion in mind but this was my alternative.

a. The first for ( $29 ) was a very nice leather half case with a machined Arca-Swiss plate integrated into it. It's easy to get to the battery and mount a tripod with the case on. All the doors are accessible and it is anywhere from ( 1/3 ) to ( 1/4 ) the prices for others on the market with a build quality close to this one. It shipped out of China and took a while to get to me but I can say it was worth the wait. My guess is the price on this will go up when it gets discovered. Only downside is I could not get it in black.

b. Second for ( $23.99 ) was a neoprene cover when not shooting. It is plenty roomy, light and can be attached when a lens hood is also attached with little effort and it's not snug. I can always just roll it up and put it in my pocket when shooting.

Those look nice and your leather case has an L Plate which is handy if you tripod a lot. What's the leather quality liker? I had cheap case for my X-E1 which had a plasticky feeling leather sealant that didn't wear well over a year or two.

That being said I find the raised ridge on my half case to be too useful to consider an X100 case without it. The outer part isn't attached to the half case but the ridge holds it in place very well. I also don't mind brown leather on my black camera.

It's not PL ( polyurethane leather ) but real leather. Since it's new I can't tell you how well it will age or hold up long term. Since the base is machined aluminum even if the leather does not hold up, the basic frame and L-Mount should.

Re: finger print sensor on shutter button

Yes, i agree. As i am the one who talked about it, i would add that it came to my mind as i'm saving money the get a x100V or its successor while my kids tell me "buy a new phone!". And asked myself: a camera is more expensive than expensive smartphones, they are full of electronics and still they don't have something to protect them from being stolen too easily. In fact i was afraid that someone tell me "but you fool, it exist already!" but it seems that it is not the case. I close the chapter!

all you have to do is rotate the zoom ring to extend the lens before you can press the shutter button to take a picture.

For a camera that’s popular among street photographers, I don’t think forcing people to use a two-handed process before they can shoot, and the same before they put the camera in a bag/pocket, is going to be very appealing. Certainly I’d never buy it.

Agree. Better stick to compact 23mm F2 lens since F1.4 impossible. Only wish full weather sealing without required extra filter.

Since Fujifilm managed to add an aperture ring and weather-sealing without increase the size of Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8 R WR Prime lens, technically "total weather sealing" able add to next X100.

Please add weather sealing to battery door too, wish below incident never happen again

I would prefer internal focusing WR like the f2 lenses to what the 27/2.8 has. Seems more durable that way.
