Tag search photo viewer??

I have my thousands of photos on google drive, each one manually tagged (keyworded).  Very simply, I need an Android App that allows me to filter by keyword(s) or Tag(s).  Important to note that that I don't store photos on Google photos or any photo app.  They are on a drive - (google drive server) - in file/folder structure format.  Windows file explorer does this very well.  why no Android or IOS app??!!  Also, google doesn't even display all the meta data like tags when clicking on properties.  How is what I'm asking not a popular request.  While I'm able to search and find anything on my desktop, I  can't on my mobile.

F-Stop Gallery Pro

There is a free version that you can try out first. Like all apps, it has it's way of doing things that do not fit with all brain types or past experiences, and it's a smallish Android App, not a full fledge DAM, so don't expect it to be a DAM or as thorough as EXIF Tools. He does plan to add more Exif data editing beyond Tags and keywords.

Each photo also has a Details and Description area, where besides the Tags you can add other words that can also be searched.

Tags from my PC DAM software, PhotoSupreme and others that I've tried, appear in F-Stop Gallery Pro when images are transferred to my Android device and likewise Tags made in F-Stop Gallery Pro go with the images to my PC, at least Jpegs. I haven't used the RAW workflow in a while to remember accurately.

Also, read the online website user guide more than once, in case you dislike it for how your brain works. Most people get upset that an app does not work how they want it to or expect it to but very often it's because they have not read anything on how to use the apps and instead think they should be able to just figure it out on their own, neglecting all the other ways of thinking about a workflow, Don't be one of those people and there is quite a bit to learn with this app.

The developer is quite responsive and open to suggestions, though not all suggestions happen as fast as one likes. The paid version does have a discount of a couple of dollars a couple of times a year but if one wants development, then it's helpful to pay for it.

There are other apps. Search for Exif (data) maybe instead of tags, or keywords?

I don't do tags, but you might try Piktures (Diune), which will search and create them - no idea if it recognizes Google tags though it accesses Drive. The free version has nearly complete functionality.

(I tried F-Stop Gallery some years ago but it didn't recognize DNGs at the time, that may have changed. Piktures displays JPEG, DNG and PNG formats.)

DNG and PNG also work well with F-Stop Gallery Pro.

I just tested a few raw files with F-Stop Gallery Pro and it had no problems Tagging, Searching, etc. for Nikon NEF Raws, DNGs, Panasonic RW2 Raw.

I looked at the Piktures app description, but it is quite vague on Tags, barely mentioning them and boy does it have a lot of bad reviews. But hey, if it works for you, then it works.

Re: Tag search photo viewer??

Thank you for F-stop and Piktures suggestions. I'm currently trying F-stop and I can't get it to link to a specific google drive server (not the default google drive) and most importantly, it doesn't seem to read or recognize keywords I manually assigned to the picture file using adobe bridge,  I have no interest in AI detected tags.   Again, It's shocking that I seem to be asking for something unique.  HOW DO PROS SEARCH fFOR AND FIND PHOTOS ON THEIR MOBILE??  I may  actually look into hiring someone to create my own app (on Fiver).

App that:

1. links to server(s) containing  picture files.

2. Scans metadata for keywords stored in all picture files and creates list

3. User checks off all the keywords from the list that they want to search for.

4. Program returns (for display) all and only the photos containing the selected keywords.

As I suggested earlier, why don't you just talk to the app Developer vs. hoping and guessing for things to work YOUR WAY.

I'm a pro and I have zero problem using F-Stop Gallery Pro as it is designed.

I'm strictly guessing here, but some of what you are looking for may not warrant the cost of development and have a small user base. As well, some features that people want are often blocked by Google to prevent security threats.

But ask the developers, get the facts vs. ranting here about hopes and dreams and misinformation?

Thanks again.  I will continue to try F-stop and probably reach out to its developers.  (sorry for ranting but sometimes it feels good  )

Can't vouch for tag treatment, and don't in fact use the gallery app often - normally I review phone files in X-plore file manager (including excellent support for online storage, but no tags) and more rarely my Canon RAWs or obscure formats in a little app called File Viewer.(Sharpened)  I started using Piktures years ago to see DNGs and because it linked to Microsoft OneDrive, that was pretty rare at the time - nothing in my evolving use case to change it.
