Looking for C1/C2 ideas for the M6 II
1

I’ve never taken the time to customize the C1/C2 settings on my M6 II camera(s) - so far.  Mostly this is because I haven’t really been able to figure out which 2 sets of settings I would like to preserve using this features.  Until now.

On this beautiful winter solstice day with the snow coming down (again), I’ve read back through a lot of the posts here, some of which have offered a few ideas of what people have done to configure a set of C1/C2 settings that work for them, but I haven’t been able to put together a clear picture of what people have found useful - and why.

I realize that this is a matter of taste and preference, but I’m looking for ideas that would help me figure out what might work well for me.

I keep the M6II camera in M (manual) or C1 or C2 at all times -and C1 and C2 are programmed using manual mode

I keep the camera in Manual, Servo, spot focus, and Back Button focus and auto iso and mostly 7 fps

for C1 -- I might set to use e-shutter and iso 100 and single shot

for C2 - I might set to use tracking with face/eye detect.

I usually have C1 set to Tv with fast shutter speeds and 7 fps for dog photos (or other things that moves)

C2 I change more often depending on the lens and situation etc. But I often have it set to Av with a small aperture for a quick macro/close up etc.

Re: Looking for C1/C2 ideas for the M6 II

I don't have M6 II, only M6 I.

The reason for me to use (permanently) C1/C2 is the fact, that I often change between A- and P-Mode. In most cases I am using A-mode, but P is useful for me,
- when I have a lens with small aperture (without bokeh), or
- when I have only little time (e.g. dog walk).

On my dial, however, A und P are not sitting next to each other, I always have to skip T-Mode. So I have set A and P to C1 and C2, there is no more need for skipping

Aditionally, C1 and C2 allow to define specific settings (WB, ISO, focus frame, picture style) individually, independent of each other.
