X-S10 with 90mm manual focus.

I have an EF mount voigtlander 90mm manual focus lens. Purchased an X-S10 to take advantage of the ibis and focus peaking as the lens was used on a Canon 6D II.

It's adapted through a Kipon AF speedbooster so it retains its original field of view. I dialled in the lens focal length in the menu, but with either continuous stabilisation or shooting only, I'm not seeing through the evf any stabilisation kicking in compared to ibis off. Is there something missing or is a 90mm focal length just too much?

My guess is that because the adapter has electrical contacts, the camera thinks there is an AF lens attached, since electrical contact is still being made with the adapter. The "Shoot Without Lens" and manual focal length settings in the menu only apply if a manual lens, or any adapter, without any electrical contacts is mounted on the camera. It would probably work properly if you used a dumb (contactless) adapter for the lens, or if you could cover the contacts on the adapter itself.

So an adapter and manual focus lens with electronic contacts won't work with ibis? In any case if I cover the contacts I won't be able to change aperture from camera.

If the camera thinks an AF lens is attached but is receiving no communication from that lens (which would be the case in your situation), there is no way for the IBIS to work properly. There either has to be full communication between the lens and camera, or it has to be fully manual. That's what the "Shoot without lens" and focal length settings are for, fully manual lenses with no contacts. If you use an EF lens with AF you might have more success, though of course I have no idea about the quality or effectiveness of the Kipon adapter with Fuji cameras. Fringer seems to be the best AF adapter for Fuji. If you want to use your particular lens you'd have to find a dumb adapter that provides aperture control.

Edit: I'm not familiar with your particular lens, but even if the lens has a cpu/chip to communicate with Canon cameras, there's no guarantee that it will communicate properly or at all through the Kipon adapter with the Fuji camera. When I tried the Nikon Z system, I used a Rokinon 135mm f2 with a cpu chip for Nikon on the Z5 with the FTZ. Unfortunately the lens could not communicate at all with the adapter; the image would flash on and off and it gave error messages. So again, to the best of my knowledge, if you want to use IBIS, the connected lens has to be fully auto or fully manual. Others with more experience adapting lenses may have better information than me though.

The adapter seems to be working properly since I can change aperture from camera. The autofocus also works on AF lenses although slow. So yeah have to try masking the contacts to make it work as fully manual, see what happens and work it from there.
Thank you for the information.
