Thanks again, Brad. I loathe the ubiquitous software subscription push also, that's the reason for ditching Adobe years ago. I have paid-up Neo, which has great masking capability and much enhanced functionality over prior versions. Folks like to hate on Skylum, but for me it's easy, fast, economical and packed with powerful tools. Some of the new add ins look good as well but are getting pricey.

Have a go at posting. The landscapers among us that fantasize about making the nearly 10,000 mile Alaska trek would enjoy seeing what we are missing :-). Best wishes for the holidays.........Larry

I do like some of the Luminar products for the same reasons that you do. I don't totally despise them. As a graphic artist for close to 40 years - with 28 of that being self-employed - I nearly choked at Adobe's subscription policy. I purchased all of my programs, Suites...etc, never pirating a thing. I began on Photoshop/Illustrator/Pagemaker version 1.0 yet, I'm still using CS6. I usually end my post-processing in Photoshop because I find the accuracy of the Levels/Shadows & Highlights a bit more accurate and and I like having Rulers when Cropping. Why? I don't know. Probably a throwback from using Photoshop/PS Camera Raw for so long.

Alaska IS beautiful and, being born and raised here, I'll never leave. Today it's VERY visually stunning but... it's clear and -5F so, there's that.  In the Winter, clear skies can come with a hefty price tag.  I'll see if I can't snap a few pics with my K5-IIs from my yard or, post an older image, and throw 'em up on here. Thanks, Larry.

Larry... The more I looked at the one I adjusted and posted, the more that I thought "Did I repost Larry's original?" I had to go back and do it again for my own mental health minute. HA! I didn't mind opening it up again because you took such a nice shot.

As for Neo... I have a love-hate relationship with Luminar as they've quit supporting tablet use. Meaning, I don't have scroll bars ever since their Luminar AI 1.5 update. Their answer: "We never officially supported tablets." Wow. So, I still use Luminar 4 and recently bought On1 Photo Raw because they don't require a subscription - which is something that Skylum (Luminar Neo) has dipped their toe into. Not a fan.

As for what I did in Luminar 4... Shadows/Highlights, a bit of AI Enhance, a dash of Structure (not really necessary) and very little Detail adjustment. As you know, all of that takes about 2 minutes... maybe.

Regardless, thanks again for posting your images. I wish I had the guts. Merry Christmas, Larry. (Brad in Alaska)
